A Grade
Roos 42 defeat Wang 38
Historically a challenging game the girls knew this game would stand as a performance barometer. The score see-sawed in the first half, but after some critical changes the girls found another gear. With 5 to go, we had a lead of 8 only to take the foot off and let Wang sneak back in to only lose by 4.
MVP Lily Sharp - transitioned back out to WD in the second half and with the help of Toni shut down the quick paced Wang mid- court.
Club 1 Liv Sinclair - having a great year, Liv has stepped up her game offering plenty of creativity and assistance in the attack end.
Club 2 Toni Lind - such a graceful player, Toni glides up and down the court making this game look easy.
Essential Beauty - Emily Laracy - having a stand out year also, Em slotted back into the Goal keeping role in the 2nd half and injected another level of defence with Sophie creating many turnovers
Canteen Grace Senior - stand out second half after slotting back into her home position of GS, Grace held with poise, performs pirouettes and slots the goals through with ease
B Grade
Roos 66 defeat Wang 33
Imogen Taylor looks to create another opportunity to score in the B Grade match.
A strong first quarter saw the girls come off the court at the break with a huge margin setting them up with an overall strong win. Great team effort
MVP Lisa Tobin - having a stand out start to the season Lisa’s strength under the post and accuracy is certainly leaving her defenders deflated.
Club 1 Madi O’Keefe - used her expert knowledge of the game to run rings around Wang mid court and expose their lack of drive through the centre.
D’Amicos- Kiara Corkett - such a reliable feeder is the ball, in combination with Madi they fed the ball with elegance into Lisa and Imogen.
Origin Clothing - Grace Kennedy - stepping up from the juniors this year Grace is showing plenty of promise in the back line with a fair bit of determination and competitiveness.
Canteen Jenni Vine - fresh off the Spirit of Tassie holiday - Jen slotted into the B grade side seamlessly and capitalising on a smaller attacking opponent with plenty of rebounds and turnovers.
C Grade
Roos 38 defeated Wang 28
C Grade continued the Roos domination defeating Wangaratta by 10 points.
The C grade girls played a great game. It took the first quarter for the girls to find their groove but once we started in the second quarter, they worked it out and started to talk and play as a team. As the game progressed the girls grew more confident in their shooters, they lead down the court to feed them well.
Club 1 & MVP Brittney Deegan - Britt was strong in her shooting role also strong as a defensive attacker in the middle of the channel, helping the girls lift and create turnovers.
Club 2 Tracy Oates - Tracy communicated well on the court, playing both ends and was a strong presence and made an impact.
Docs Cafe - Chelsea Parker Chelsea came through and played her positioned as she was asked, executing her goals. Her leads to the ring were amazing!
Canteen award - Grace O’brien Grace played a great defensive game she worked out the shooters and did well to stop them from getting the ball.
Under 17s
Roos 28 defeated by Wang 39
The Roos came out firing on Saturday after a great win last week. The defensive pressure was amazing all the way down the court. It was goal for goal for of the game but unfortunately due to some unforced errors, the Roos fell short at the end.
The under 17s have been putting together some beautiful passages of play but just need to bring it all together for a full game!
Riley - Another captain’s game. Continually worked hard in defence and then was patient in attack!
Felicity - Best game for the season so far. Took some great intercepts defensively and provide drive into the attack.
Eloise - stuck to her goal and provided so many opportunities for the team!
Talaeka - was gritty in defence. Continued to have the hunger to win the ball back!
