With the score at 5/74, quick wickets were needed to keep the Saints finals hopes alive.
The bowlers started on fire with the Saints attack skittling the Rhinos for 105.
Rory Bartlett picked up another two wickets to claim 5/19 off 17 overs, and Jacob Bartlett snared 2/30 of 20 overs to secure a 21 run win for the Saints.
With overs to play and to secure points, the Saints batted again making 10/118 with Matt Ross and Jacob Bartlett getting 18 runs each.
With a further 17 overs to play in the day, the Rhinos needed to chase 140 for a win.
Tight bowling from the Saints saw them finish at 5/57 after 17 overs, with Darcy Pyle claiming 2/4.
The extra runs and wickets gave the Saints the points to jump into the top four of the Murray Valley Cricket Association ladder, overtaking Cobram.
This sets up a must win match at home against top of the table Nathalia for the Saints to remain in finals contention.

In under-14s, Berrigan resumed its contest with Tocumwal at 1/72.
The Saints bowlers struck early, however some poor bowling in periods allowed the Bloods to get away posting the score of 4/140 with Jack Smith claiming 2/26.
With the Saints turn to bat they resumed at 0/56 with Lachie Packer and Josh Monteath at the wicket.
With 85 runs required the two picked off singles and twos in the field.
They took the score to 79 before Monteath was caught out for 32.
Jordan Swann and Packer continued the pressure on the Tocumwal attack, taking the score to 105 before Packer was dismissed for 36.
Jack Phillips joined Swann in the middle, with Swann controlling the strike and guiding the Saints past the Tocumwal score and finishing at 2/141 after their 40 overs.
Swann retired on 40 and Phillips not out on two, with the Saints winning by eight wickets.
Swann claimed the Berrigan Cafe Award and Jack Phillips the Federal Hotel Parmi Award.
This week Berrigan take on Katamatite in a two-day match at home, in the final round of season.
A win will see the boys play finals.

Under-12s cricket commenced for Berrigan last Thursday night, after having a bye the week before.
The Saints hosted Katunga in the round 10 match.
Winning the toss, the young Saints posted the score of 99 with both Harvey Swann and Will Batten top scoring with 16 runs each.
They had good support from Ollie Batten (15) and Kobe Smith (8).
In reply, Katunga posted 82 with the Saints bowlers restricting the Katunga batsmen.
Dusty Ryan claimed 2/4 and Harvey Swann took 2/4.
The Saints won by 17 runs.
Dusty picked up the Federal Hotel Parmi Award and Patrick Arnold took home the Loats Family Award.
