Players from across Seymour’s football and netball programs were recognised last Thursday evening, with best-and-fairest awards presented alongside a range of individual, team and whole-of-club honours.

In the football, Dylan Cook claimed the Gary Brown medal as the senior best-and-fairest, ahead of runner-up Nic Quigg and third-placed Jack Murphy.

In netball, Ally Black claimed the A-grade best-and-fairest award, with Elle Nexhip finishing runner-up while also taking out the best finals player gong.

A-grade best-and-fairest Ally Black was represented by mother Pauline, alongside best finals player and runner-up best-and-fairest Elle Nexhip and coaches award winner Ruby Martin.

The night also provided another opportunity to celebrate Seymour’s B-reserve netball premiership team, which completed a remarkable third consecutive premiership and secured the club’s fourth B-reserve flag in five seasons.

A number of significant club awards were presented during the evening.

Darcy Giles received the Eamonn O’Connor Memorial award, Paul Lewis was presented with the Lions’ Pride award and Michael Thomson was named Seymour Football Netball Club’s best club person.

Kim Mason received the Lenny Brown best netball club person award, while Clare Watson received the netball appreciation award.

Club president Peter Elliott said presentation night was an opportunity to recognise the contribution made by people across every part of the club.

“Presentation night is about celebrating our award winners, but it is also about recognising everyone who contributed to the Seymour Football Netball Club throughout the season,” Elliott said.

“From our players and coaches through to our volunteers, trainers, sponsors, members, families and supporters, there are so many people who give their time and energy to make this club what it is.

“We had plenty to celebrate in 2026, including another fantastic achievement from our B-reserve premiership team, and we are enormously proud of everyone who represented Seymour throughout the year.

“Congratulations to all of our award winners and thank you to everyone who played a part in another terrific year for the Lions.”
