The duo received the honour at the venue on the banks of the Goulburn River, receiving commemorative pin badges and a spot on the life members wall alongside legends of past and present.
Reflecting on the evening of festivities, Shellie took to social media, as he admitted he was left “humbled” after being recognised alongside Scott.
“Very humbling night it was and the support and comments very overwhelming, he posted.
“A privilege to share the night’s honour with such a great member in Graham Scott.”
Later, Scott reflected on an evening to remember down at the Golf Rd club, as he described his fellow newly-inducted life member Shellie in glowing terms in a show of humility.
“Thanks for all the best wishes, it was a memorable night shared with the legend Nigel,” he wrote.
The news of the accolades for the two golfing aces went down swimmingly with fellow players and friends from yesteryear, as dozens took to social media to express their admiration for the twosome.
“Congratulations Scottie, you love your golf, were a wonderful teacher, and a great coach to the GV schoolboys football team during the ‘80s, particularly the 1985 team,” one person wrote.
“Happy memories, congratulations on your life membership of Shepp Golf ‒ well deserved.”
“Congratulations lads ‒ a wonderful and well-deserved honour for a massive commitment of love to our club,“ another said.
“Arnold Palmer said ‘golf is the greatest game on Earth’ ‒ you are two of our members that make it great for all.“
“Congratulations Graham and Nigel. You have both contributed so much to our club,” a third said, adding, “this recognition is well deserved”.
