This weekend saw the return of the season after a COVID enforced layoff.
Both sides appeared a little rusty early on, missing targets and shots in goal. Kicking with the wind, we were able to take a small lead into quarter time.
Barny responded in the second quarter and began to control the tempo of the game, with their half back line generating multiple attacks and going into half time 9 points up. The margin remained much the same until Barny began overrun the boys, with their midfield getting on top and extending their lead before winning by 28 points.

Reserves
The Cats reserve side came up against a very determined Barny side.
Unfortunately, things looked like a challenge before the ball had been bounce with a few players being a late withdrawal, however thankfully a couple of true club men in Tracka and Pat answered the call and slipped the jumper on.
It was hard work for all throughout the game with no players available on the bench which resulted in a few injured players having to stay on the field.
There were a few good signs from the team with some calculated ball movement which resulted in goals. Each week we are improving, and everybody is looking forward to next week.

Under 17s
The Under 17s lads were really excited for the challenge in playing Barnawartha.
The first quarter was exactly what we expected tough, hard and quick footy but after that Barny found another couple of gears and unfortunately our boys couldn’t keep up with them running out strong winners.
Special mention to Tory Oats who after half time kept their full forward relatively quiet after having a ripper first half.

Under 14s
Our youngest Cats had another fantastic win on Sat this time against Barnawartha.
The only sour point of the game was a serious arm injury to Tom Ford and we all wish him the best of luck in his recovery.
The boys coach Mitch Cofield leaves this week to take up a work opportunity in QLD.
The club thanks Mitch for his commitment and knowledge he has shared with the boys, leading the boys to an undefeated position on the ladder. Good Luck Mitch.
