In the first home game of the season, Corowa Rutherglen C Grade Roos faced off against the Wodonga Bulldogs, resulting in a hard-fought victory for the Bulldogs.
The Roos entered the game with their characteristic high work rate but quickly found themselves facing an uphill battle as they struggled to find their rhythm in the first half. Despite facing a strong side, the Roos never gave up or lost their ability to refocus each quarter.
The versatile Jemma Smith looks to move the ball to the Roos’ goal end.
After halftime, the Roos were able to penetrate the formidable Bulldogs’ defence, however, it wasn’t enough to bridge the margin.

Roos News
The Corowa Rutherglen community has once again demonstrated its incredible generosity and support as they rallied behind the Roos Board's "Pay it Forward Initiative" over the weekend.
With heartfelt gratitude, the board expressed their appreciation to the community for their overwhelming response and participation.
“Our board members and Coach Steve Owen thoroughly enjoyed the chance to catch up with those that wandered past,” Roos secretary Rowena Black said.
“Paul Somerville picked the lucky ticket first up for the load of wood that was raffled in Support of the Corowa Pre School and the lovely Sandra Dunn was the winner! Sandra advised she wasn’t in need of the wood, so we made the call to redraw and Robert Muir (Moose) our resident Free Press Journalist was next picked!
“Marg was ecstatic to say the least and so grateful to have won the prize and even more excited to learn that the Forrest boys were going to deliver and stack it for them.
“The grand tally to be handed over to the Pre School was in excess of $700 - we really are appreciative of the community we live in - thank you everyone!”
