Corowa Rutherglen football coach Steve Owen made the comment after training on Monday evening.

Jordan Eyers will return for the Roos and was in full swing at training.

“Training has been going really well,” he said. “Last Saturday we had a two-hour session working on structures and match simulation in preparation for upcoming practice matches.

“For the locals, it was their first opportunity to see recruit Darcy Hope in action. And he didn’t disappoint.”

Connor Leslie is looking forward to getting into it and helping the Roos return to the field.

Hope was up against talented local Ryan Eyers. Spectators got to see some fantastic one-on-one contests between them.

“The club is excited to see what Darcy can do in 2024. Recruit Connor Leslie is in Corowa this week, training with the group and last night he slotted seamlessly into our midfield structure,” Owen said.
