After the senior debuts in the first round of Bailey Nichol, Lachie Webb, Jimbo Plummer, Lachie Nottle, Ben Jones, Caleb Andison, Tommy Allison and Thomas Killer Kilpatrick the sided added two u17s lads in Charlie Beattie and Luke Nicholson for their first senior appearances.
Luke calmly kicking the first goal for the Cats from fifty on the run in heavy traffic to begin what could be a big future in football.
Charlie’s work rate and sure hands will see him turn into a talented long term senior player. In addition to the senior debutants Luke Knight also played his first senior game for the Cats and performed well in the middle with some heavy work. Late call up Jack Holmes was also a welcome addition in the ruck.
Once again, the senior side is made up of young local footballers who are at the beginning of their senior journey and continually give their all.
The return of Chris Oats, Jack Andison and James Salmon from injury will greatly fast track the development of the list. Key injuries have hampered the results for first year senior coaches Duane Moo Moloney and Jacob Meyer however the future is bright with the talent at hand, games under the belt and physical development will see this list grow into a powerful unit.
Awards: Complete Body Craft Major – Luke Knight, Star Hotel Yeti Stubby Holder – Luke Nicholson and Rutherglen Pizza – Jack Holmes.

A good reward for Nathan Thomas and Ryan Clohessy who came on board late with the departure of last season’s coach. To bring the side together as they have is a credit to both.

Second game of the year for the young chargers and they continued to dominate. After only giving up one point in their first game they were just as miserly by giving up just two points.
New coach Ben Nicholson has the side firing at the early stage of the year with first year players in Hugo Poole, Liam Colvin, Dusty Fisher and Bill Lindon adding to an already strong list.
Hugo Poole kicking a career high three goals to outdo his brother, much to Logan Poole’s distaste.
A really good performance from the experienced second year players have this side primed for a great year to build on the final’s appearance of last year.

The little men started slowly letting Tallangatta kick away in the first quarter, however after a quarter time reset the lads came out with renewed focus and gradually took the game away from their opposition.
With clean hands and plenty of run this was a great start for coaches Dallas, Heath and assistants Brett and Andrew.

The Cats girls put on a solid performance and it was great to hear them encouraging each other throughout the game.
Cloudy skies then started to rain in the second quarter making conditions difficult.
The girls have showed improvement which is pleasing.
Major Award: Winslow Civil – Jess Oats.

The Under 17s came up against a strong Tallangatta side. The young side fought hard all game but we’re unable to convert their efforts into goals.
Under 15s
Tallangatta 55 def Rutherglen 15
The 15s were up against it with strong competition in Tallangatta. Absences of key players
away for the Easter break saw a number of U13s step up to fill the gap. Alex held strong in the goal circle with Faith backing up at both ends of the court.
The younger girls should sleep well with a number playing 6 quarters back-to-back. Massive shout out to Harriett, our youngest on court a 10 years old who played a ripper game and owned her space. Well done rock stars, we are so proud of your tenacity and resilience.
Award Winners: Tony Cooper Award – Alexandra Gniel; Stupid Sox – Faith O’Donoghue
Under 13s

Under 13s were met by a tall, strong opposition in Tallangatta. The girls held up well and created some
lovely passages of play down the mid court but just couldn’t manage to convert into goals. Passing
let the team down giving Tallangatta the advantage. Good game by Tallangatta, always great competition.

The littlest cats worked hard on their spacing and three feet in distance. It was great to have strong
competition in Tallangatta for a great game of netball. Keep up the hard work at training, well done
champs.
