Awards:

Club 1 award- Bree Forrest- Another lock down defensive game from Bree limited Yarra’s ability to freely move the ball into their attacking end. Bree paired up well with our other defenders Sophie, Lily and Miley again showing Bree’s team first mindset and hunger to secure our U15’s team the win. Another highlight from Bree’s game was her drive down the court which gave Yarra no time to setup their defensive structure.

C Grade’s Jemma Smith driving the ball back to the Roos goals end.

Sportspower award and MVP- Sienna Sampson - played with a lot of confidence from the start of the game moving and attacking the ball well. Sienna also worked really well with both Millie and Lily setting up both players to get their shots up.

Doc’s award- Lily Palmer started the game in defence before moving into the attacking end after half time shooting and rebounding the ball well. Her positive attitude and teamwork were another highlight for the Roos this week.

SS&A award- Rahni Dickins played a key role for our team again this week with her growth in defensive pressure at the centre position being a real highlight. Rahni’s ability to link up with Keeley was again another key strength for the group’s win.

The first quarter was close, which was how the rest of the game continued, in defence the duo of Milly O’Kane and Audrey Hogan proved to be a challenge to the accurate Yarra shooters and turned over a number of balls and sent back down to the Roos attack end.

Jo Somerville and Milly Cheeseman also providing support in the defence end who was able to help bring the ball down through the centre court.

Remy Longmire, passing to Eloise Black, worked well in the mid-court on the 17s game.

Eloise Black and Lily Kohn shot well under pressure both supported in mid-court by Remy Longmire, Tamir Richardson and Ava Phibbs.
