Eldest son of Professor Ian and Muriel Maxwell, beloved husband to Joan (nee Allen, dec), loving father to Alastair (dec), Ian (dec) and Roland, and loving father-in-law to Gabby. Adoring grandfather to Sarojini, Yolanda, Eve, Galen, Yannick and Barnaby; and devoted Uncle to his Gill, Smyth, and Maxwell nieces and nephews, and his extended Brennan family and, of course, Hester and Lindis.

Miles died peacefully, with his son Roland at his side.

Musician, teacher, philosopher, sailor, he will be much mourned by family, friends, students, congregation and carers.
