It is with great sadness that the family of WILLIAM BRUCE KIRKPATRICK OAM announce his passing at age 99. Bruce died peacefully of natural causes at his home in Melbourne on Friday, 21 November 2025. He leaves behind his wife of 71 years, Juliet Kirkpatrick (94), their two surviving children, Michael and Doug, the family of his first son, David (deceased 2024) and five grandchildren, Tara-Rose, Annabelle, Maddison, Benjamin and Jake. Bruce was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather, distinguished serviceman (WWII), community leader, business executive, and benefactor for medical research into diabetes and Meniere's Disease and who campaigned tirelessly for electoral reform in Australia. A service honouring Bruce Kirkpatrick's life was held at Blair Chapel, Springvale Botanical Cemetery in Melbourne on Friday, 5 December 2025. A subsequent memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Church, Darling Point in New South Wales in 2026 on a date to be announced. On behalf of Bruce, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any donations be made in his name to Curtin University in care of Dr. Daniel Brown to advance research into a cure for Meniere's Disease and/or to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in care of Professor Jerry Greenfield to advance research into a cure for diabetes.
