Cats 6-15-51 def Tallangatta 3-10-28
Saturday’s game was dedicated to raising awareness for organ donation. Thanks to the Tallangatta Football Club for their participation in raising awareness for an important cause that touched both clubs and left a lasting impression.
Paling a distant second in importance on the day was the football. Full credit to the players and coaching staff that have had a tough battle over the last month with not a lot going their way, they have not stopped trying and just needed a bit of luck and the ball to bounce their way to get some reward for the effort.
Tallangatta hadn’t been to Barkly Park for over three years, they also have given the Cats a football lesson at their home ground the last couple of times we have been there and they were missing a couple, so we knew we were half a chance of pinching this one.
The guys didn’t take a backward step, attacking each contest as hard as they could. We managed to get the ascendancy and weren’t about to let it slip, it was a tough, defensive and low scoring affair but in the end we came out twenty three points in front. With two games to go let’s finish off with another two wins well done guys we are all behind you.

Cats 15-13-103 def Tallangatta 5-11-41
The Cats came up against Tallangatta on Saturday knowing they had to put together a big performance to get back into the five. Right from the first bounce the team was up and about with Ryan Clohessy and Tommy Renshaw back to spark the side.
A big inclusion up forward, Ryan Jones, was kicking well early to grab a good break in the first quarter. As the game progressed the boys were gelling well and the Cats two bigs down back; Brad Zwiersen and Jack Holmes were dominating and turning the ball over with ease.
Zave Talbot tried hard all day and all of the smalls with good rotations off the bench were never held.
A good win at the end and the team will take a lot of positives into next week against the Saints at Sandy Creek. Great to see the whole side being there for each other when it really counted! Good job boys. Go Cats!

Cats 9-5-59 def Tallangatta 3-3-21
In a strong display of quality footy the Rutherglen Fourths beat Tallangatta 59-21. In possibly their best game for the year the young Cats were in front from the first bounce and proved too strong and determined for their opposition.
In another dominant game up forward Justin Lewis Kicked five goals. Tyler Benbow was also a strong target at centre half forward and was provided with plenty of the ball from Indi Kotzur and Lochie Webb in the middle. Tom Allison and Ryan Milthorpe controlled the game well from half back and were key contributors in a solid full team effort.
