In the 50m butterfly, the 13-year-old recorded a PB of 30.16, dropping .65 to be placed 15th out of 40 competitors, in the championships held in Adelaide from April 11 to 18.
Millie clocked 28.92 in the 50 freestyle, beating her previous best by .5 and finished 48th out of 110 competitors, improving her national ranking by 44 places.
Finishing 23rd out of 40 competitors in the 50m backstroke was another fine result for Millie.
Only a small group of 13-year-old Victorian swimmers made qualifying times for the national championships.
Despite the seriousness of the high-level competition, Millie “really enjoyed” the Australian championships.
“The atmosphere was extremely exciting and cool being around Australia’s top swimmers,” she said.
“I will continue to train for the upcoming Victorian short course state championships in early August and continue chasing more Australian qualifying times.”
