Celebrating their students’ achievements, highlighting the dedication of their staff, and sharing the unique strengths that make their school special.
To celebrate this year’s theme, Showcase Your School, Sirius College will organise classroom open sessions, student performances, displays of work across different subject areas, and interactive activities that reflect their strong academic and values-based programs.
Principal Avtandil Teshebaev said the week would provide an opportunity to proudly share their school culture with the wider community.
“Students will play an active role in both preparing for and participating in Education Week activities,” he said.
“They will contribute by creating classroom displays, rehearsing performances such as songs, poems, or presentations, and showcasing their learning.
“Student voice will be encouraged, allowing them to take ownership and pride in presenting their work and representing their school.”
Families and members of the wider community will be invited to attend special events, including open classrooms and celebration sessions.
Opportunities such as morning teas, performances, and informal interactions will allow parents and carers to engage with the school and witness student learning firsthand, strengthening the partnership between school and home.
Sirius College is unique in its strong focus on academic excellence alongside values-based education, and they are particularly proud of their inclusive and supportive environment, where students are encouraged to grow academically and personally.
“Our commitment to nurturing respectful, responsible, and engaged learners is something we are excited to showcase,” Mr Teshebaev said.
“Our school fosters a strong sense of community through regular communication, collaborative events, and a welcoming environment.
“Staff work closely with parents to support student learning, ensuring a shared commitment to each child’s success.”
Students at Sirius College have access to a variety of opportunities, including extracurricular activities, STEM programs, the Year 5 and 6 Enrichment Program, creative arts, and SRC leadership roles.
These opportunities allow students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
“Daily life at Sirius College is characterised by a calm, respectful, and engaging learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed,” he said.
“There is a strong focus on both academic growth and character development, with teachers dedicated to creating meaningful learning experiences and fostering a positive school culture.”
