Only looking forward, Lee was reticent to discuss the mystifying condition that forced her to withdraw from last week's Scottish Open after opening with a horror 13-over 85 and then being 10 over through 12 holes of her second round.
Australia's world No.13 says she has recovered sufficiently enough to be able to tee off for the British Open on Thursday (5.20pm AEST) in good spirits and is hoping to once again contend at the links major.
"I'd rather not," Lee said when asked what went down in North Ayrshire.
"I mean, it's in the past, right, so I hope I don't think it really matters.
"I've had a few days to recover a little bit, so I've taken it easy the first few days and then yesterday a little bit more practice. But other than that, it's been OK."
What matters is that the 30-year-old is bidding to become only the eighth woman to claim four different major titles having already won the 2021 Evian Championship, 2022 US Open and 2025 PGA Championship.
Lytham is where fellow Australian Adam Scott blew a four-shot lead with four holes to go when he had one hand on the Claret Jug in 2012.
The Lancashire links is also where Lee led after a sizzling first-round 65 in 2018.
"I just remember that day, I played really early in the morning and there was not a breath of wind," Lee said.
"Obviously great memories from that first round and good vibes, but this year I think it's going to play a little bit differently. With the wind, it's a totally different beast."
Despite never winning the Open, Lee has a phenomenal record in the championship, boasting three top-five finishes, five top 10s and seven top 13s from 12 starts.
But the Perth prodigy is refusing to take the record for granted and focusing only on respecting the testing, bunker-filled layout in the hope of finding herself in contention come Sunday.
"There are spots on the fairways, there are holes where it looks really dry," she said.
"But for the most part, it's actually quite green from what I expected to see. But there'll be quite high winds, so I'm not sure how firm and fast the greens will get, but it's playing really, really good.
"So you've really got to pick a, pick a good target and then hit it there and trust that the wind will bring it back. It's just a great championship venue."
Lee is among nine Australians in the 144-player field, joined by fellow major winners Hannah Green and Grace Kim, along with Cassie Porter, Karis Davidson, Robyn Choi, Steph Kyriacou, Kelsey Bennett and rising star Justice Bosio on her major championship debut.
