Police allege a 30-year-old man was kidnapped from his home in South Morang, in Melbourne's northeast, about 3am on May 15.
The man was then dragged out of his house and into a vehicle, which fled the area, police say.
An hour and a half later, at 4:30am, the man was found dead in a suburban park near a playground on Bruny Drive in Tarneit, in Melbourne's outer west.
Police say the car used in the alleged kidnapping and murder was set on fire on Mt Mary Road in Eynesbury a short time later.
On Wednesday, four boys and two men were arrested after police executed eight search warrants across Melbourne's west.
A 23-year-old Truganina man and four 17-year-old boys were charged with murder, kidnapping, aggravated home invasion and criminal damage by fire.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man from Point Cook was charged with assisting offenders and criminal damage by fire.
The two men were remanded in custody to face the Magistrates Court on Thursday morning, and the four boys will appear before a Children's Court.
