Ms Ley said up to $200,000 was available to share in Farrer as part of the Federal Government’s Local Schools Community Fund.
“Government, Catholic and independent schools in the electorate can apply for funding of between $1,000 to $20,000, with the money eligible towards a range of school projects,” she said.
“Whether it is for a classroom refurbishment, new computer facilities or counselling services – it could be some playground equipment, library resources or sporting gear, each can be covered through this Fund.
“I can’t think of any school which won’t have something this money could go towards and this allows them to pursue a project which will make the biggest difference to their students.”
Minister for Education Dan Tehan said projects will be assessed on the benefit they can bring to the school community.
“The Morrison Government is providing record funding for Australian schools, with an increase in funding for all primary and secondary schools across all sectors by an average of 62 per cent per student.”
“The Local Schools Community Fund is additional funding which builds on our investment by allowing individual schools to nominate their own projects to benefit their school community,” Minister Tehan said.
