Following two successful events in Canberra and Melbourne, the Winemakers of Rutherglen are bringing their Rutherglen in the City wine tasting event to Albury’s QEII Square on Saturday November 9.
The collective of winemakers from nearby Rutherglen will turn Albury’s central hub into a little slice of wine paradise from 2pm to 7pm. Locals can come and experience the magic of Rutherglen firsthand and immerse themselves in the bounty of the whole Rutherglen wine region while discovering a broad range of wine varietals and unique styles that are right on their doorstep.
There will be more than 100 rare and boutique wines including cellar door exclusives from 16 pop-up cellar doors. Patrons will have the opportunity to explore everything the region has to offer, from heavenly sparkling whites and reds to crowd-favourite rosé to Rutherglen’s famous fortifieds.
The world-renowned Muscat of Rutherglen will also be on offer. Unlike anything else produced anywhere in the world, Muscat of Rutherglen is rich, complex, mysterious and full of flavour.
Rutherglen in the City-goers will also be able to enjoy a number of free masterclasses held by winemakers throughout the day as well as live music performances.
There will be a range of wine-friendly food options available to purchase and locals can stock up their wine collection by purchasing wine to take home.
Tickets for Rutherglen in the City Albury ($10) can be pre-purchased online at www.ruthergleninthecity.com.au. Tickets will also be available on-the-day.
