Delivered in partnership with the Tomorrow Today Foundation, the 2026 event will bring together the Creating Community Connections Expo and Come and Try Day into one vibrant, inclusive and welcoming community event.
The expo is a fantastic opportunity for local groups to showcase their activities and services, engage with the community, and attract new members, volunteers and participants.
The 2026 Benalla Community Expo Come and Try Day will be held from 10am to 2pm,
Sunday, October 11, at the Benalla Indoor Recreation Centre and Benalla United Friendly Society Sports Reserve.
In 2025, the Creating Community Connections Expo saw more than 75 community groups involved and over 1500 attendees.
Many groups gained three to five new volunteers or members, with one group welcoming 10 new members on the day.
Since 2016, Tomorrow Today’s Come and Try Day has successfully connected young people with local opportunities.
In 2025 alone, 20 sports and recreation clubs took part and 118 children aged four to 16 attended and engaged in activities.
Benalla and District Social Inclusion Action Group is auspiced by Benalla Rural City Council and funded by the Victorian Department of Health.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn said the expo was a great way for local groups to connect with the community.
“Benalla Rural City has a strong community spirit and this event is a lovely way to bring people together,” Cr Hearn said.
“Whether you are a long-standing club or a new group, the expo is a chance to meet locals, share what you do and welcome new members and volunteers.
“If your organisation has something to offer the community, we would really encourage you to get involved.”
