Lighting the way in Rutherglen

More than just a beautiful addition to the streetscape, the lights create a warmer, more welcoming atmosphere that encourages people to linger, connect and enjoy Rutherglen after dark, while also enhancing the sense of safety in the town centre.

The business community came together to celebrate the occasion and gathered at the Victoria Hotel before Mayor Sophie Price led the countdown to the official switch-on.

The project is a great example of what can be achieved when Council and community groups work in partnership to deliver initiatives that enhance public spaces, support local businesses and create lasting benefits for residents and visitors.
