Police say the pursuit began about 10am after receiving information from Victoria Police about an orange Holden Commodore allegedly displaying false registration plates in Barmah.
Officers arrested a 27-year-old man in Moama about 12.45pm after finding the vehicle. Police will allege he was a passenger in the sedan at the time.
The driver allegedly fled the scene, sparking a pursuit through Moama, Deniliquin, Mathoura and back into Barmah, where Victoria Police successfully deployed tyre-deflation devices.
The Commodore was later found abandoned near Cummeragunja.
During the incident, police were also alerted to the theft of a white Holden sedan, which was reportedly seen travelling back into Victoria. Investigations into the identity and whereabouts of the driver are continuing.
The 27-year-old was taken to Moama Police Station and charged with eight offences, including three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, possessing a prohibited weapon, three counts of possessing a knife and being carried on a conveyance.
Police also executed an outstanding NSW warrant relating to alleged firearm theft offences.
The man was refused bail and remanded in custody overnight. He appeared before the Local Court's Bail Division by video link on Thursday 29 October.
He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody, scheduled to reappear before Deniliquin Local Court for a police mention on 11 November.
Court records show the man was also brought before the court on an outstanding warrant relating to separate matters, including alleged break and enter, stealing a firearm, possessing a stolen firearm and possessing an unauthorised firearm offences.
All matters remain before the court. Investigations are continuing to find the driver involved in the pursuit.
