The medium rescue vehicle boasts cutting-edge equipment and technology specifically designed to handle a wide range of events and incidents attended by the Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA).
One of the standout features of the new vehicle is its state-of-the-art lighting towers, which will greatly assist the VRA in effectively managing accident scenes.
This latest addition to their fleet, worth tens of thousands of dollars, not only promises to streamline operations for Corowa's top rescue group but also holds the potential to save numerous lives.
The acquisition of the new vehicle is part of a wider initiative that saw nine specialist rescue vehicles, worth over $2.75 million, distributed across the state by the NSW State Government.
The official handover ceremony took place on Saturday, May 27 in Dubbo, where Commissioner Brenton Charlton expressed his deep appreciation for the unwavering support of the NSW Government in providing vital resources and state-of-the-art technology.
“Our new specialist vehicles enhance the safety of our highly skilled rescue specialists, enabling them to deliver world-class rescue services in rural, regional, and remote NSW around the clock, regardless of the environment or terrain,” he said.

Minister for Emergency Services Jihad Dib also commended the invaluable work carried out by the VRA Rescue NSW and expressed his support for their selfless dedication to helping others.
“I hope these vehicles aren't needed on a regular basis, but when they are called in to service, I trust they will make the lives of those working in them easier and help better protect the lives of the people they serve,” he said.
Corowa Rescue Squad’s Rob Slot expressed his gratitude for the fully equipped rescue truck.
“We were the very lucky recipients of a brand new fully equipped rescue truck, with the ability to help our community out in any situation big or small but now with the latest and greatest high-tech gear.”
Since receiving the new vehicle, it has already been put to use once following a storm last month.
Mr Slot extended his appreciation to the NSW government for their generous support, as well as to VRA Rescue NSW for their efforts in organising the acquisition of the truck and equipment.
He also mentioned that the Corowa Rescue Squad is now planning to sell their old vehicle, which was over 30 years old.
The new vehicle is expected to greatly enhance the capabilities of the Corowa Rescue Squad, enabling them to respond more efficiently and effectively to emergencies.
