Organiser Daryl Whateley said he was “very pleased”, citing “excellent weather and good number of vehicles”, and strong support across both days.
The Tractor Trek group travelled to Tuppal region, covering 84 km, with Mr Whateley reporting “the boys all came back smiling”.
He said the pavilion display was well received, adding “I wouldn’t think we could do much better.”
While Ferguson and British Motor Company (BMC) were the feature vehicles of the weekend, the grounds were filled with everything from gleaming hot rods and custom classics to vintage farm machinery and collectable displays.
Among the weekend’s winners were Michael Van Delden and David Parrington who won Best Original for their VW Kombi van.
The pair, from Melbourne, first passed through Deniliquin in June while travelling, stopped for breakfast, and decided to return for the Spring Rally.
Best BMC was awarded to Arthur Crosthwaite for his replica NSW police car, a 1967 Mk1 Mini Cooper.
Mr Crosthwaite has owned the car for 10 years, and has installed a working siren and a number of other police fitting to complete the look.
Despite its small size Mr Crossthwaite says it’s “a fast little car”.
“It’s a genuine 100 mile an hour car, in 1966 it won the first nine places at Bathurst,” he said.
The Spring Rally was held Saturday and Sunday, with the Tractor Trek and Show ‘n’n Shine taking place Saturday.
The event is always held the third weekend of September at Memorial Park.
Best Overall was won by Stuart Tangey for his 1968 Dodge Super B which he has owned for 15 years, and re-painted nine years ago.
Tim Duffy won Best Bike with his Harley Davidson Heritage Softail, which he has owned for only a couple of years, choosing it simply because he “liked the colour.”
Rod Marshal, took out Best Ford with his XW ute, a vehicle he has owned for 22 years and fully restored.
