Grants start from $1000 and are aimed at young people aged between 16-25 who wish to pursue further education or training at university or a vocational education and training provider.
Grants can be put towards educational expenses such as accommodation, textbooks, technology and equipment.
CEF Coleambally-Darlington Point is a part of the national Country Education Foundation of Australia whose mission is to promote and enable equal access to further education and career opportunities for rural and regional youth irrespective of background, circumstances or location through community-based encouragement and financial assistance.
Local volunteer Kim Mannes said it was very rewarding joining the CEF network.
“I became a volunteer in 2024 after my daughter finished her course, as we were so grateful for the support from CEF during her studies,” Ms Mannes said.
“Afterwards, I wanted to show this gratitude by supporting other students.
“I really love being involved, to help kids to further their education and have more opportunities for their future.”
Grants application for CEF Coleambally-Darlington Point close on October 31, for students wishing to pursue university or vocational education and training in 2027.
