Mr Ern Meharry, agreeing with Mr Roger Perry (June 13), laments the lack of variety in the Letters page.
Perhaps another reason for the lack of letters is that journalistic articles do not incite the same enthusiasm that they once did.
Where has all the feisty content disappeared to? When I read the weekend edition of The Age, its letters are very broad in content.
While it is fair to say they do have a larger staff ratio and a bigger audience to reach, I’m pretty sure that the local newspaper is lacking a tad in the sort of stuff that lights a spark in the mind of a person who would previously have been motivated to put pen to paper.
