Police allege the 30-year-old man broke into a High St home between 4am and 6am on Wednesday, October 28, while the residents were sleeping.
Detective Senior Constable Ethan Hamill of Campaspe Crime Investigation Unit said the man stole personal belongings from inside the house and items from vehicles parked outside.
“The occupants woke and began getting ready for work, while the male was still within the address,” he said.
“Residents identified that items had been stolen, before observing the male nearby leaving, wearing some of their clothing.”
The man, who has no fixed address, was arrested a short time later and all the allegedly stolen items were recovered and returned to their owners.
He was charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of theft, two counts of theft from a motor vehicle and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
The man was remanded in custody and faced court on Thursday 29 October 29.
He made no bail application and was further remanded in custody to appear at Echuca Magistrates Court on 16 November 2026.
Det Sen Constable Hamill said the man had been arrested over similar offences in March 2026.
After spending about six months on remand, the man was released on pre-sentence bail about five weeks ago to demonstrate he was a suitable candidate for rehabilitation.
