More teens have been arrested after the brutal river attack of a young woman in Echuca earlier this month.
Detective Senior Constable Shane Kervin said a 13-year-old girl had been charged with affray, violent disorder, intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury and assault in company.
The Echuca girl was bailed to appear in a Children’s Court, along with a 14-year-old boy charged last week with affray and violent disorder offences.
Det Sen Constable Kervin said police had this week also arrested two other 14-year-old boys from Echuca. One was released pending summons, and the other, who had self-presented at the police station and helped detectives, was released pending further inquiries.
“There are still further arrests to be made,” Det Sen Constable Kervin said.
The arrests come after a 19-year-old woman was attacked at a campsite off the Campaspe River bike track on October 8.
She was found bloodied and bruised near the Campaspe River footbridge by passersby before being taken to hospital with injuries to her face and torso.
Anyone with information or who witnessed the attack is asked to contact Echuca police on 5483 1500 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
