On the Gold Coast, Titan Teagan Levi and Brisbane's Tamika Upton staged a one-on-one battle for the ages on Sunday as the home side came out on top 28-20 to maintain second spot on the ladder with a 7-1 win-loss record.
At Allianz Stadium, the Roosters stretched their undefeated record to 8-0 with an NRLW record 66-8 thumping of the Warriors.
The Broncos came into their clash with the Titans at Cbus Super Stadium in unfamiliar territory, sitting fifth off the back of consecutive losses to the Roosters and Canberra.
And things didn't grow any easier for the reigning premiers.
Levi burrowed over from dummy-half in the seventh minute to open the scoring, the Rugby 7's convert continuing the form that is catching the eye of some of the game's biggest names.
"First year in the NRLW and she's fast becoming the best player in the game," Billy Slater said in commentary.
"Obviously challenged by the number one in the opposite team today, Tamika Upton, but Teagan Levi, she can beat you in so many different ways.
"She's got a great pass. She gets into dummy-half and then she uses another strength of hers, and that's her running game. She's a real weapon."
Jaime Chapman scored next before Georgia Grey, daughter of former Wallaby Nathan Grey, crossed out wide despite a high shot from Upton.
The Broncos superstar was placed on report and Gold Coast were given a penalty in front of the posts following Lauren Brown's missed conversion.
Kerri Johnson hit back for the Broncos. who trailed 14-4 at halftime.
Johnson scored two minutes into the second period and when Upton touched down three minutes later the scores were level.
A penalty goal to Brown and a brilliant individual try to Levi was followed by a hip drop tackle on Levi by Shannon Mato that earned the Broncos prop a stint in the sin bin.
Grey and Brisbane's Chelsea Lenarduzzi traded tries in the final 10 minutes, as Gold Coast took the win.
In the second game of the afternoon, Tarryn Aiken and Jess Segis led the Roosters in completely outclassing the Warriors, 12 tries to two, setting new NRLW records for points scored and winning margin.
The Tricolours scored first half tries via Keeley Nizza, Olivia Kernick, Brydie Parker and Sergis - offset by a sizzling four pointer to Stacey Waaka for the Warriors - and led 22-4 at the break.
Parker scored twice more in the second half to give her eight tries in three games. Nizza, Kernick, Isabelle Kelly and Jayme Fressard sealed doubles.
Despite the loss, the Warriors remain in sixth and in a scrap for a berth in this season's six team finals format.
In Sunday's other game, Parramatta beat Cronulla 42-16 in a battle to move away from the bottom of the ladder.
