LBU’s desire to win was evident from the jump, with the attackers moving swiftly into the goal circle and the defenders diving for loose balls.
Yet, the Demons also brought the heat and looked formidable early, with just one-goal separating the two sides at quarter time, 14-13.
It was a similar story at the start of the second period, but the Cats found some breathing room in the lead up to half-time - capitalising on White Hills’ mistakes to take a 10-goal advantage into the major break.
The decisive second quarter was the difference maker as the two sides battled into the third term, with the Cats unable to break the game open.
While LBU’s defenders kept up the intensity, its goaling duo, spearheaded by a best-on-court performance by goal shooter Eliza Leeds, kept the Demons at bay.
Leading 49-32 at the start of the final frame, the Demons weren’t going to die wondering, having a majority share of possession for much of the fourth quarter.
LBU’s Eliza Leeds was named best-on-court for her shooting in the 15-and-under grand final.

While White Hills made a late push, with goal shooter Poppy Gladstone putting a few through the net - it wasn’t enough to bring it all the way back, with LBU smiling like the Cheshire Cat at the final siren, 62-47.
LBU’s 15-and-under coach Narelle Bacon reflected on the game and highlighted her side’s composure and cohesive effort as the reason for victory.
“The girls played a great game, they’ve been amazing all season, they’re a good group of girls and play well together,” she said.
“Everyone can play in many different positions, so there’s plenty of opportunities for flexibility with the line-up.
“They just relaxed and played their own game in the end, and that’s what it came down to.
“It was a great team effort, and they didn’t get caught up in the emotion of the grand final.”
