Over the previous two Tuesdays Warfe was a part of the midweek pennant Cobram team that won the Murray Playing Area premiership against Numurkah Golf.
Warfe and the team then went on to the Goulburn Murray Regional playoff where Cobram trounced Shepparton Golf.
Following on from that success, last Sunday morning at Strathmerton Bowls Club, Warfe partnered with Cobram’s president, Ray Parks, playing in the Goulburn Murray Regional playoff.
This game decides the champion mixed-pair between the Murray and Goulburn Valley playing areas.
With the score tied at eight-all about halfway through the 15-end final, the Cobram combo picked up a six-shot haul on their road to victory.
With one end to play, the Goulburn Valley representatives of Kate Bush and Paul Nichols from Shepparton Park Bowls Club required five shots to tie the result.
They managed to close the gap, claiming four shots on the final end. But it wasn’t enough to deny Warfe and Parks the title. The final score was Warfe and Parks 14 to Bush and Nichols 13.
That afternoon, Warfe was down to play Leigh Hansen from Tocumwal Golf Bowls Club in the final of the Murray Playing Area over-60s Women’s Singles final.
Warfe had defeated Lidija Patching from Numurkah Golf Bowls Club in round one, then beat Chris Mears from the Tocumwal Golf Bowls Club in the semi-final.
Both games were played the previous day (Saturday) at the Finley Bowling Club.
In the final, it was Warfe 21 to Hansen 12.
In what has been a stellar performance in recent weeks, Warfe will add these latest medallions to her collection.
