At the end of the home and away season A1 finished in 7th place, B1 were in 5th place and B2 were in 7th place.
Weekend Pennant – Semi Final
B2 played in the Elimination final against Corowa RSL at YMGCR. A very good day for Civic coming away with a 37-shot win. The game was played in great spirits by both teams. A shout out to the young players Archie Bedford, Levi Phibbs and Nate Jones who are very young players for RSL.

Ovens & Murray – Champion of Champions 2023-24
On Sunday Sue Dawson and Ian Lewis represented Corowa Civic at Wangaratta Bowling Club. Sue played Tracey Fair from Corryong but unfortunately lost her match. Ian played Shayne Mathieson from Swanpool and had a win 25-11. In the second round Ian won on a forfeit from Leon Reid from Dederang. In the third round Ian defeated Pat O’Shea from Bright in a nail biter, in the last end Ian was 24 to 22, Pat had three bowls around kitty when Ian came in with his last bowl, and sat it on kitty, such a great shot and came away winning the round 25-22. Ian now goes into the last four players to play next Sunday, Congratulations Ian.
Men’s Pairs
The final was played on Sunday between Col Hendren and Lance Davis against Bob Ronnfeldt and Ned Young. There was great bowling by all four players, however Bob and Ned lead on every end, despite Col and Lance playing great draw shots, on the last two ends Bob and Ned were able to hold their well-earned lead, coming away winners 16-15.
Men’s Triples
On Thursday afternoon a game was played between Col Hendren, Lance Davies and Graeme McIntosh against Paul Hickey, Ray Ager and Brendon Leach. This was a very tight game with Col, Lance and Graeme coming away with a one shot win.
Maxi Draw
The Maxi Draw social was held on Saturday evening with a good attendance of members and friends, a lovely meal was supplied by the catering committee before the draw took place. The winners were CDBHU, Graeme McIntosh, Paul Hickey and John White.
O & M Finals
Civic hosted the elimination and qualifying finals on Saturday for division 2A -Yarrawonga v Chiltern and Howlong v Wodonga.
On Tuesday Civic will host the A1 finals between Wodonga and Yarrawonga in the qualifying final, and Wangaratta and Benalla in the elimination final. There is also the B1 final between Corowa RSL against Tungamah in the qualifying final and Moyhu against Swanpool in the elimination final. Next Saturday, February 24, the preliminary final for A2 between Chiltern and Wodonga and in B3, Wangaratta and Chiltern will also be held at Civic; come along to see good bowling on any of these days; everyone is most welcome.
