The girls built on the lead each quarter as they kept connected, remembered their goals and finished their leads.

Mikaela was strong in both the centre court and defensive circle, creating plenty of turnovers across the four quarters.

Her athleticism, ability to read & react to the play, as well as her talk was phenomenal.

As a result she was voted Players’ Player, Club 1, MVP and Opposition MVP.

Well done Mik!

Ange DeMamiel was also a standout against the Tigers.

Her relentless pressure on the defensive circle created a number of turnovers, as well as her ever-calming presence downcourt and into the goal circle that the team loves her for.

B Grade

Corowa Rutherglen 33 def by Tigers 37

B Grade had a hard wrestle with Albury Tigers this week.

With three strong quarters, they played good netball, but a lapse in the second quarter was too much damage to repair by the end.

Now they hit the training track to realign their focus to the Raiders this week.

It is a must win game if they want to regain top spot on the ladder.

Club 1: Kelsea Bullivant found circle-edge like a homing beacon all game, and showed composure on feeds, connecting with the goalers beautifully.

Essential beauty: Audrey Hogan came out guns blazing and never looked back, showcasing her team first approach and flexibility across positions as switches were made; she provided defensive pressure across all three defensive positions across the game and adapted quickly.

Canteen: Courtney Haigh contested the ball with two hands, provided energy and voice from the bench and battled the speed of the Albury attack line across the game.

C Grade

Corowa Rutherglen 56 def Tigers 42

C Grade produced one of their most complete performances of the season on Saturday, defeating Albury in a polished four-quarter display.

The girls set the tone early, racing out to a 17–11 lead at quarter time before extending the margin to eight goals at the main break (27–19).

Another strong third quarter saw Corowa-Rutherglen outscore the Tigers 17–8 to establish a commanding 17-goal advantage heading into the final term.

Despite Albury's fightback in the last quarter, the Roos maintained their composure to secure a well-deserved 14-goal victory.

Awards

Club 1: Rahni Dickins was outstanding through the centre, playing the entire game at C and setting the standard with her tireless work rate. She provided constant drive through the midcourt, communicated exceptionally well, and delivered precise feeds into the shooting circle.

Club 2: Niamh Lavis continued her outstanding form in defence, making life incredibly difficult for Albury's shooters. She shut down attacking drives, read the play brilliantly and applied relentless defensive pressure all game.

Club 3: Keeley Symonds was equally impressive in defence, bringing intensity and physical pressure to every contest. She worked hard to deny her opponents easy access to the circle edge, forcing errors and making Albury's attackers earn every possession.

U17s

Corowa Rutherglen 18 def by Tigers 59

The U17s came up against a well-connected Albury Tigers side on the weekend.

Despite their best efforts, Albury proved too strong and took away the win.

The Roos’ defenders were outstanding all game, applying consistent pressure and working tirelessly to contest every ball.

Club 1: Dekoda Smith was a powerhouse in defence, creating plenty of opportunities with her pressure and determination.

Club 2: Lilyana Wright was solid in defence and provided a fantastic ball-carrying option through the court.

Club 3: Stella Johnson played a brilliant game at goal keeper, applying relentless defensive pressure throughout the match.

Although the result didn't go their way, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance as they continue to improve each week.

U15s

Corowa Rutherglen 18 def by Tigers 51

Corowa Rutherglen’s U15s went down to a strong Albury side but produced plenty of positives throughout the match.

The girls were particularly impressive in the first and final quarters, where they moved the ball with confidence and capitalised on their opportunities to convert and score.

Their teamwork, determination, and ability to finish off attacking passages were highlights of the contest.

The team’s resilience and effort never wavered, providing a solid foundation to build on in the remaining weeks ahead.

Sportspower: Zahli DeMamiel’s determination and ability to move from attack to defence, with a consistent 4 quarters.

Thrive: Harriet Way’s work rate in the mid court to lead to the ball and also took on a new position.

Canteen: Taylor Francis played a consistent 3 quarters in WD, working hard to isolate the opponent’s wing attack and was rewarded with some turnovers.
