Cor/Ruth 42 defeated Wangaratta Magpies 40
As always, a close contest but the Roo girls got a quick jump in the first quarter which helped them maintain the lead in a see saw game. Games like this are won when the whole team chip in 100% and execute their style of game.
Awards:
Sullivans Hair&Beauty Award – Sophie Hanrahan – A standard defense, Sophie put their goalies off their usual game enabling many rebounding opportunities.
Club 1 – Jen Barrett – Jen had a great game applying defensive pressure to a bookend shooter. Jen was composed under pressure and continued to change up her game to keep challenging.
Club 2 – Ella Kingston – Dynamic, Ella never disappoints. She offers a value to the mid court like no other. Shi is disciplined and poised when in possession and athletically challenging.
Essential Beauty - Jess Bice – So clever in her court drives and feeds. Jess set up plays and drew defenders to our advantage.
Ladies Committee – Liv Sinclair – Liv’s pocket drives were the talk of the mid court. She executed with precision and left her WD helpless to stop her.

A battle in the first quarter soon turned into a confident win for the Roo girls. It was a fast-paced game so a few erros were made. A defensively strong game again from end to end, so many turnovers were on the cards.
Awards:
Sullivans Hair&Beauty Award – Lisa Tobin – A great offensive game.
Club 1 – Maddi O’Keefe – a standout game for this girl. She displayed all the processes that makes us so glad she is a Roo girl. Driving hard and pin point precision passing are her assets.
Origin Clothing – Lucy McInnes – Such a strong presence on the court, Lucy directs play from on end to the other applying plenty of defensive pressure in the meantime.
D’Amicos Restaurant – Zali Spencer – Zali impresses every week in any position!! She truly is a superstar and a great captain and leader.
Ladies Committee – Kiara Corkett – Always reliable and consistent, Kiara can lead from the centre giving all confidence in the game. She works and compliments Madi beautifully in the mid court.

A great game was played against Wang Magpies. All girls should be very proud of their performance. All areas played very well. Defence were outstanding – mid court were super steady – goalers were accurate. All girls played their role even when in positions they were not used to. Congratulations to award winners!

Amazing effort by the girls. We started out of the blocks so strong with great pressure the whole way down the court. Our transition from defense to attack was so clean and our attackers were so patient to the shooters. No matter what combination was on the court the girls stepped up and played with such a confidence. What an awesome team we have. Onto next week.
