“Obviously having almost a full squad together is a bonus. It was a great weekend,” he told The Free Press.
With attendance at a wedding recruits, Sam and Nathan Dunstan, and Christian Masson Moyle were unavailable. But all recruits will be available for next Saturday’s practice match at home against Mitta United.
Corowa’s Under 18s had a good workout against Wodonga Raiders last Saturday morning, with Rory Beattie and Luke Nicholson starring for the Roos.
The temporary facilities at John Foord was not off-putting for opposition players Wodonga Raiders.
“We’re happy to come and support the club,” Under 18’s team manager Jason Cannell, whose stepson Brad St John captains the senior Wodonga raiders, told The Free Press.
“If we can do anything to support clubs like Corowa we will. I think any club would support the club.”
With Wodonga Raiders changing in a sizeable container, it didn’t matter to players or the team manager.
“Corowa’s gone to a lot of effort to get the sides back onto the ground. At the end of the day players are not going to worry about where they change,” Cannell said.
