The A Grade side bounced back from last week’s loss with a strong first-quarter effort against the Tigers, taking a five-goal lead early.
The team showed great resilience, holding off multiple surges from Albury throughout the match. A new-look lineup began to find its rhythm in the second half, allowing the side to pull away to a 16-goal win.

Club 1 (Essential Beauty) and players’ player: Chloe Gilcrist – From the first whistle, Chloe brought intensity and drive in attack, doing a mountain of work off the ball to create space for those around her and finishing with 14 goals.
Canteen: Zoe Prentice – Zoe stepped up in defence, working seamlessly with Mik and Tamir to create turnovers. She applied strong pressure in the ring and transitioned well into attack.
B Grade
Roos 35 defeated by Albury 38
Round 2 presented a different challenge for B Grade, with three core players unavailable. Despite this, the team showed depth and versatility against a strong Albury side.
The Roos put up a solid fight, remained composed in attack and led for much of the game. Several players stepped up to fill roles and performed strongly. However, lapses in connection late in the game and a few costly errors saw the side fall short by three goals.
The group looks ahead to next week with confidence as they return to a full lineup and continue refining their game plan.

Club 1: Rahni Dickins – Showed poise through the centre court, strong drives to the circle edge, excellent feeds and accountability across the game.
Docs: Eloise Black – Stepped into GS, showing strong holds, patience and composure to finish, adapting her game well.
Canteen: Tori Sampson – Outstanding in WD and C, with high work rate, strong defensive pressure and excellent ball delivery to the shooters.
Players’ player: Rahni Dickins – Delivered an exceptional all-round performance and read the play superbly.
C Grade
Roos 63 defeated Albury 43
C Grade produced a strong performance, securing an impressive 63–43 win over Albury Tigers. Despite limited numbers, the team showed great resilience, with Leah Keating and Sarah Haynes making welcome returns.
Ball movement was a highlight, with the team executing structures and strategies developed at training, an encouraging sign early in the season.

Best on court: Addy Corbett (GS) – Outstanding in the goal ring, providing strong leads and finishing accurately under pressure.
Second best: Niamh Lavis – Applied consistent defensive pressure and created multiple turnovers.
Third best: Keeley Symonds (WA) – Strong midcourt performance with effective drives and precise feeds.
The team now prepares for a tough challenge against 2025 premiers Wangaratta Rovers next week.
Under 17s
Roos 27 defeated by Albury 52
Round 2 saw the side take on Albury, resulting in a loss. The match began on a difficult note, with a key player sustaining a serious injury in the first quarter, which unsettled the group.
Despite this, there were positive passages of play that highlighted the team’s potential when structures and game plans were followed. The focus now shifts to building consistency across four quarters.

Under 15s
Roos 14 defeated by Albury 51
The Under 15s faced a tough challenge against a strong Albury Tigers side. The opposition controlled the game with consistent ball movement and accurate shooting.
Despite the result, Corowa’s defensive unit stood out, applying strong pressure, forcing turnovers and contesting every pass. While the scoreboard did not reflect it, the team’s effort, particularly in defence, was commendable and provides a solid foundation for the remainder of the season.
