The strategy paid off, with slick ball movement and relentless pressure leaving Marong scrambling to keep up.
Ella Forde was unstoppable yet again, showing her trademark courage and skill by relentlessly winning the ball and facing down any opponent who dared stand in her way.

It was pleasant Sunday morning for junior footy at the Windridge Oval.
Our young Tigers played a great brand of football and proved way too strong for Runnymede.
Despite the one-sided scoreline, it was a tough contest, and Rochester had to work hard for their goals.
There were eight different goalkickers: Jerome Murray, Logan Carmichael, Heath Wilkins, Cooper Rasmussen, and Noah Broucek all booted two majors.

The Rochester under-14 team put on a commanding performance at Marist College on Sunday, running out winners over Maiden Gully by 92 points.
The game started evenly, with Maiden Gully kicking the first goal and having their share of the ball.
Halfway through the quarter the young Tigers flicked the switch and started to run the footy and share the ball.
They piled on the next four goals to take a 19-point lead at quarter time.
The second quarter was one of complete dominance by Rochy.
They linked up beautifully by hand, kicked the ball with precision and played team first, selfless footy.
The boys piled on six goals without missing.
This was due to great skill, but also the willingness of the boys to pass off to teammates in better positions.
At half-time, the boys had opened up a 53-point lead.
A highlight of the half was Charlie Holmberg kicking his first ever goal.
The second half gave the opportunity for Coach Rasmussen to shuffle the magnets and have a look at some players in different positions.
The boys continued to strive to do all they were instructed to do and produced an attractive style of football.
Although not as dominant in the second half, it was fantastic to see players still willing to share the ball around and learn to play different positions.
The best players on the day included Asher Rasmussen, who ran hard and took marks all over the ground.
Judd Cuttriss played his best game of the year, using his precise skills to cut open the opposition.
Hugh Acocks played another tough game, winning clearances and bringing others into the game.
Harry Rasmussen’s ability to win the contest and then cleverly dispose of the ball by hand opened up the game.
Mason Mundie was dominant in the ruck and his long taps often found a midfielder flying onto the ball.
Jordan Peters linked up well all day, regardless of his spot on the ground and like his teammates, his disposal was precise.

Under-16 boys
A cracking day for football saw Rochester take on Eaglehawk in the Borough on Sunday.
The Rochy boys put on a great display of skills and teamwork, coming away with a strong win.
During the first quarter, the ball spent majority of the time in the Tigers' possession, although the scores didn’t come easy.
Rochy went to the first break with only eight points on the board, but they held an eight point lead with Eaglehawk scoreless for at least the first 20 minutes of the game.
In the second, the Rochy boys had plenty of scoring shots but just couldn’t convert, with only two majors for the quarter.
Kaelan Connor had a great game and was instrumental across the ground, but particularly up forward.
Eaglehawk found the scoreboard in the second, but not often enough to give chase to the Tigers.
Corey Pangrazio competed well in the ruck and around the ground, and Tom Drust consistently lowered his eyes for the best options.
At half-time, Rochy was 20 points up.
Cale James played a key role, leading by example and contributing to the team’s success.
Asher Lehmann’s repeat efforts and tackling left an impact on the game, and a few bumps from an unassuming Nate McFarlane had Eaglehawk scrambling.
Heath Kyne’s voice around the ground was valuable, and Eaglehawk were left scoreless for the quarter once again.
At three-quarter time, the Tigers were 42 to Eaglehawk’s seven points.
In a display of sportsmanship and skill development, Coach Tarrant shuffled the boys around the ground and out of their comfort zones for the last quarter.
Eaglehawk seized the opportunity and went ahead to kick three goals in quick succession.
Not to be deterred, the reliable back man Cal Giffin (who found himself in the forward line), responded with a goal and the Tigers were away.
Goal sneak Tom McFadzean also clocked up his second for the day.
Tom Reynolds led strong in the forward line, and Reno Mountjoy’s attack on the ball in the fourth quarter was a delight to watch.
