The Under 15s and Under 18s booked their spots in the big dance with impressive wins at Sunday’s preliminary finals in Corowa, joining the Under 12s, who secured their grand final berth the previous week.
Unfortunately, the Women’s team fell short, going down to Lavington in a hard-fought contest.

The Corowa Rutherglen Under 12 girls are through to the Grand Final after another brilliant performance, securing their place in the big dance with a convincing win over Lavington.
While making a Grand Final is certainly something worth celebrating, for this group of young Roos, the season has been about so much more than wins and losses.
Week after week, these girls have shown what it means to be a team. They encourage one another, celebrate each other’s successes, pick each other up when things don’t go their way and, most importantly, have a whole lot of fun doing it.
Their connection is something special. Whether they’re running onto the ground, sitting together on the sidelines, having a kick or sharing plenty of laughs, there is a real sense that every player belongs.
Coaches Mia Spiteri (Meaz) and Layla Haberfield have every reason to be proud of the girls and everything they have achieved this season.
Now, they get the opportunity to finish their incredible season on the biggest stage. Grand Final bound!

The Under 15s are through to the Grand Final after a fantastic full-team performance against the North Albury Hoppers on Sunday, running out seven-goal winners.
From day one, the real story of the year has been the evolution of this team into a cohesive and determined unit.
They’ve navigated their share of challenges along the way, from injuries and illness to balancing school sport and personal commitments. Week in and week out, these young athletes have adapted, bonded and developed together.
One of the hallmarks of their development has been their incredible versatility and generosity. Many of the girls have regularly stepped up to bolster the Under 18 side, while also seamlessly managing the demands of playing two games a week for the Roos.
No matter who has worn the jumper on any given weekend, the team’s core bond has remained rock solid.
True teamwork isn’t measured solely by time on the field, wins or losses. This group has elevated its tactical understanding, improved its high-pressure ball movement and developed the grit required to turn tight contests in their favour.
They’ve learned to rely on each other’s strengths, embrace every role required on match day and, most importantly, put the team first.
That determination reached its peak during the final’s series. Displaying maturity, composure and a genuine resolve to achieve something special together, the girls have secured their place in next week’s Grand Final.
What a season this group is having.

The Corowa Rutherglen Under 18 girls are through to the Grand Final after a gutsy 22-point win over the Wodonga Bulldogs on Sunday.
What a season this group has had. Through injuries, illness, representative football, other sporting commitments and player unavailability, they have continued to turn up, support one another and believe in what they can achieve.
With some girls playing Murray Bushrangers and others stepping up from our incredible Under 15 group, the team hasn’t always looked the same each week but their commitment to one another has never changed.
Under coach Brad Nicholson, their football knowledge, communication and understanding have grown enormously. They’ve learned that footy isn’t always about playing your best; sometimes it’s about staying in the contest, supporting the person beside you and refusing to give in.
Then came the finals. The pressure went up, the season was on the line, and the girls responded by backing each other and fighting for every contest.
After everything this season has thrown at them, our Under 18 girls are GRAND FINALISTS!

Unfortunately, our Women’s side has been defeated by a polished Lavington outfit in Sunday’s Preliminary Final, with the visitors able to gain scoreboard pressure and ultimately get the job done.
While the result wasn’t what our girls had hoped for, there is so much to be proud of.
To make it this far and compete in a Preliminary Final is a fantastic achievement, and it reflects the commitment, resilience and hard work this group has shown throughout the season.
A huge congratulations to every player, coach and support person involved in our Women’s program.
Well done, girls, on an incredible season. You should be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved.
