A Grade were outplayed by a slick Yarrawonga that have played together for many years.
A few lapses in judgement and missed opportunities put us behind.
Despite this, the team took on feedback and implemented it to create some strong passages of play.
Despite the final scoreline, Emily Lavis and Mikaela Trethowan stood tall in defence and were our award winners.
B Grade
Corowa Rutherglen 28 def by Yarrawonga 39
B Grade didn’t quite cut the cake this week, with play a little too risky for Yarrawonga, who capitalized on minor errors.
Corowa Rutherglen carried a few niggling injuries and illness, which had them slightly less mentally engaged across the team.
Despite the setbacks, they started strong and remained well and truly in the game until half way through the third quarter, ebbing and flowing to keep the margin to three goals.
It was a game of capitalization, with the Roos forcing errors in the Pigeons game plan to turn the ball over and vice versa.
After the margin extended to 11 goals at the final whistle, a fire has been lit in their bellies, with a determination to remain connected across the whole court and stick to the game plan.
With consistency and relentlessness in both attack and defence, they can move forward into next week against third placed Lavington.
This will be a must win if they want to remain at the top of the ladder.
