Representing Corowa on Friday, March 1 during the Wagga Pro Am were Louise Holden, Janet Mills and Bernie Mclean.
The trio displayed plenty of good golf to amass 102 stableford points, winning by four shots.
Louise and Bernie, both off nine handicaps, carded 39 and 32 points respectively. Off 15, Janet racked up 31 points.
Corowa was one of six, three person teams competing during the Navigate Advisors Wagga Wagga Women’s Pro Am; competed against Wagga Country, Deniliquin, Narrandera, Gundagai and Commercial Club Albury.
It was the second year running of the event and the first time for Corowa. “It was great for our club and great to be in it,” Louise commented to The Free Press about the game and result.
She mentioned the significance of the $5,000 prizemoney which can be directed towards lessons for lady golfers in and around Corowa, especially for women beginners and young girls keen to learn the sport.
