Lions members were among those who attended the school’s ag open day on Monday.
While in attendance, they offered their support of two major projects or programs being undertaken by the school.
Club president Keith Kennedy has the pleasure of donating $10,000 toward the completion of the classroom shed, and $5,000 towards accommodation expenses for the show team to compete at this year’s Melbourne Show.
“The day was very informative, and the Lions enjoyed watching the preparations of the show cattle and seeing the students very committed to their duties,” Mr Kennedy said.
There are 45 students expected to attend the Melbourne Royal Show as part of the ag team this year, which ag teacher Gary Webb believes is a testament to the passion and enthusiasm of the students when it comes to agriculture.
The school’s ag open day was a chance to show the community the program in place at Finley High, but also thank supporters and sponsors.
During the open day, animals were being washed, brushed, trimmed and dried, and visitors were welcome to watch and ask the students questions.
