The most recent incident occurred on Wood House Road, Oaklands, on Monday, November 20, around 8:30 m. Responding to reports of a two-vehicle crash, officers from the Murray River Police District found a red Mitsubishi Ute and a white Mazda Ute had collided head-on.
The 64-year-old driver of the red Ute, the sole occupant, suffered hand injuries and was attended to by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Albury Base Hospital for further treatment.
Fortunately, the 18-year-old driver of the white Ute emerged unharmed.
Authorities continue their inquiries, urging anyone with information to contact the Murray River Police District or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
Meanwhile, on Friday, November 17, just before 3pm, emergency services were called to Howlong-Balldale Rd, Balldale, following reports of a crash involving two trucks.
Fire and Rescue NSW Station 268 Corowa responded to the scene, where two semi-trailers carrying seed collided, resulting in injuries and a fuel spillage.
Members of the Volunteer Rescue Association freed one of the trapped drivers, who was then airlifted to Canberra Hospital in stable condition after treatment by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
The fuel spillage was safely managed with assistance from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 209 Albury Civic hazmat firefighters.
The second truck driver, a male, received treatment for minor injuries and underwent mandatory testing at Albury Base Hospital.
Officers from the Murray River Police District established a crime scene, to be examined by the Crash Investigation Unit.
