There was no doubt which teams deserved their spots in the decider, however, as GV United and Golden Troops FC thrashed their respective opponents at Shepparton Hockey Complex.

Both games smoked the previous goals record for a match so far this tournament, as the helter-skelter style of play reached its peak as the sun set over the blue synthetic turf, with rain only whetting the appetite for more seven-a-side action.

GV United defeated Mosaic United 12-4, toiling in soaked uniforms for a landslide result.

Meanwhile, Bin Chickens FC could not continue their run of upset results, falling 15-4 to Golden Troops, the side that has stamped itself as the team to beat this tournament.

The Golden Troops will enter the big dance as favourites, having won all three group stage games with a goal differential of plus-11, before a 6-4 win in the quarter-final.

GV United lost one game in the group stage but still finish atop of Pool A, and has been on a tear in the knockout phase with wins by five and eight goals.

The Golden Troops and GV United play for all the marbles on Saturday night at Shepparton Hockey Complex, with the winner taking out the inaugural Shepparton Super Sevens, and $2000.
