With little separating the two sides for most of the match, the Demons were able to hold their composure in the key moments and build a handy lead heading into the final stages.
Picola refused to go away and finished strongly with a few late goals, but Jerilderie’s earlier work proved enough to seal the win.
The Demons were well served across the ground by Will Bull, who was influential around goals, finishing with three important majors.
While Zye Treadway and Brad Aylett worked tirelessly to keep Jerilderie on top around the ball.
Dan Eldridge provided plenty of drive, with George Flanagan also playing an important role in the victory.

The seconds travelled to Picola on Saturday and came up against a very strong and well-drilled outfit, going down by a sizeable margin.
With a number of players unavailable, the side was once again undermanned, but credit must go to the group who made the trip and battled the game out right until the final siren.

Thirds
Jerilderie travelled to Picola searching for their first win of the season, and from the opening bounce it was clear both sides were ready for a tough contest.
The first quarter was an even battle, with neither team able to gain the upper hand.
After quarter time, however, the game began to belong entirely to the Dees as they lifted their intensity around the ground and controlled the play for the remainder of the afternoon.
Zavier Rorato once again produced an outstanding performance in the ruck, battling hard all day while also showing his work rate around the ground.
Blake Vidler seemed to be involved in every contest, making the most of every possession and providing plenty of drive for Jerilderie.
Up forward, Jimmy Winn showed his class with a dominant display in front of goal, finishing with seven majors for the day.
It was a complete team performance from Jerilderie, with every player contributing in an important first win of the season.

Fourths
It was a perfect day for a game of footy, and the kids were switched on from the very first ball up.
They were under a lot of pressure in the backline for most of the day, but to their credit, they never gave up and kept working hard right until the final siren.
All the older kids really stood up, leading by example and putting in a strong effort when the game got tough.
It was great to see the teamwork and determination across the group, with plenty of positive signs for the weeks ahead.
The effort shown by everyone gives us a lot of hope for the games to come.
