Tough match against a top side.
The defensive unit worked tirelessly all game, Rachel Clarkson stood out applying strong pressure and consistently getting hands to the ball.
The mid court showed great effort, with Elle Stevens and Issy Saunders leading the way through some strong passages of play and maintaining composure throughout.
While the result didn’t go our way, the team’s determination was clear - heads up as we build toward the next round.

We started the game strong today, however Kiewa got into a rhythm, and we were unable to pin it back.
Credit goes to the girls for being flexible with a very full squad today, as we made many positional changes and tried new combinations.
Eden in WA was a strong driving force in attack, whilst Kath Bartlett in the defensive circle kept tight on her player all day

Our girls had a very strong first quarter and were leading at the first break.
We were able to keep with Kiewa until the last quarter, when we simply got outrun on a hot day.
Ella McCurdy in WA was super focused on her front cuts, helping transition the ball from defence to attack.
Tayla Meyer in WD kept the pressure on and chased down many loose balls.
Overall, our squad had a ripper game, we are so proud of their development for so early in the season.

The Hawks are always strong opposition, but the focus for the Cats was to play our own game, and the girls did just that.
It was a competitive contest throughout, with Kiewa only managing to take a two-goal lead into quarter time.
The Cats stayed determined, worked hard for each other and produced a strong third quarter, with just one goal separating the two teams in that term.
There were so many positives to take from the game, with players continuing to show growth, resilience and strong teamwork.
The girls should keep their heads up, they are putting in some very solid performances.
If they keep working hard, backing each other in and sticking together, the best is yet to come.
