The Public Health Unit is investigating gastroenteritis cases appearing locally to identify any common source and implement appropriate control measures.
A spokesperson confirmed the Ovens Murray Public Health Unit was investigating a number of gastroenteritis cases in the Indigo Shire.
“We are working closely with local stakeholders to identify any common source and implement appropriate control measures,” the spokesperson said.
“Our investigations include interviewing people who have been unwell and conducting food safety assessments.
“Alongside Indigo Shire Council, we are implementing control measures where required, such as enhanced cleaning at affected locations.”
Symptoms of gastro may include diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, headache, muscle aches and fatigue.
Washing hands frequently is the best defence against spreading gastroenteritis, stay hydrated and staying home if you are unwell.
