SiSU Health Group, through their partnership with the Shane Warne Legacy, nicknamed their health stations ‘Shane Warne machines’, following the cricket legend's tragic death from a suspected heart attack.
The term ‘Sisu’ is an ancient Finnish concept that translates to stoic determination, resilience, and unyielding courage in the face of extreme adversity.
The SiSU health station is a medical-grade device used widely across Australia, with more than 310 stations located in pharmacies, Target, and Bunnings stores nationwide.
In just a few minutes, users can complete a self-service health check that measures blood pressure, heart rate, weight, BMI and body fat percentage.
If elevated risks or concerning results are detected the kiosk encourages users to consult their GP or local pharmacist, helping them take proactive steps toward improving their health.
No appointment is required; simply step up to the kiosk, answer a few basic health questions, and follow the voice prompts to complete their check.
The station is widely praised for its accessibility, ease of use, and convenience.
It offers a fast, free, and convenient way for people to check key health metrics and get an insight into their wellbeing.
Corowa Lions Club has sponsored the kiosk in a major community health initiative designed to help residents to better understand and manage their personal health.
It will be available for one month at Waldron’s IGA from July 21.
Club president Stuart Whisson said the Corowa Lions believe improving access to health information is a vital step toward building a healthier community.
“By offering this free resource locally, the club aims to encourage residents to reflect on their health indicators and take meaningful action to enhance their wellbeing, Stuart said.
“The report (provided by the kiosk) allows each participant to review and consider important health indicators and then take action to address issues and factors affecting their personal health and daily living circumstances.”
