Kyabram P-12 College community connections co-ordinator Janine Kreymborg said the event, now in its second year, helped students to better understand what Legacy stood for.
“We want them to understand that … the ladies here, their husbands fought in the war,” she said.
“So, what they sacrificed for our kids, to have what they’ve got now, you know, they can come to a safe school, they can … ride their bikes, go to the skate park and just understand what they gave up for us.”

On the Legatees' arrival, the college’s student Lone Pine ambassadors Eliza Snell and Nate Damon greeted the guests and escorted the group through to the luncheon.
Students then served soup, quiches and sausage rolls to the 40 attendees, which included Kyabram P-12 College chaplain Liz Spicer, whose chaplaincy financially supported the luncheon.
