The Redeyes come out of the league wide bye without a win in the senior football or the A-grade netball so far this season.
Katunga have won one game in seniors, and two in A-grade netball.
Blighty has a stronger record in the reserves than the Swans, having won two games to Katunga’s none.
Both clubs have a similar record in the under-14s and under-17s football.
The Redeyes are better placed in the junior netball, while getting a win away in the senior netball grades will be a challenge.
Before the bye, Katunga had a clash against Mathoura with the senior and reserves footballers and junior netballers beaten by the ‘Cutters.
Blighty is coming off another fighting performance, against Strathmerton, before the bye.
The senior footballers went down by 20 points, while the under-14s won by seven.
Senior football coach Dane Leyden said the performances demonstrate the Redeyes’ improvement, but there is still more work for his team to do.
“We feel like we have improved throughout this season, and it was good to see us play closer to the way the coaching staff envisioned, which is credit to the lads.
“It is still unfortunate we let them get momentum after half-time, and lost the game within that 10-minute period.”
Blighty will have a few outs, and Leyden said they are fully aware Katunga will be desperate to get a win as well.
“We’d love to get our first win this weekend.
“We feel as though the boys deserve some reward for their efforts.
“We must come to play, though because they’ve been starved as well.
“There’s a few outs unfortunately, but a few to come back in, so its looking like four to five changes.”
