On Sunday Civic’s Men’s Champion Ian Lewis played in the last four players to decide the Ovens and Murray – Men’s Champion of Champions 2023-24. Ian played Les Spencer from Yarrawonga Bowling Club, this was a very tight close game, Les went on to win the game 25-17, in the other final Robert Bartel of Kiewa Valley defeated Dylan Sidebottom of Tungamah 25-23. After lunch Robert played Les in the Grand Final, the spectators witnessed lovely bowls by each player, Les came out the winner 25-13. A big supporter base from Civic came to support Ian and stayed on to see the grand final. In the Ladies final Carol Fair of Kiewa defeated Kay Smith Of Club Mulwala 25-18 and Jodie Fruend Wangaratta defeated Kylie Whitehead Wodonga 25-16. In the Grand Final Jodie defeated Carol 25-12.
Midweek Pennant
Civic hosted two grades of Elimination and Qualifying finals last Tuesday.
A1 Yarrawonga 63 defeated Wodonga 43, and Wangaratta 64 defeated Benalla 41.
In B1 Corowa RSL 63 defeated Tungamah 55 and Swanpool 68 defeated Moyhu 47.
Weekend Pennant
B2 played Tungamah in the preliminary final at YMGCR on Saturday in lovely sunny conditions, the greens were running beautifully. This game was a very close all day and could have gone either way, but unfortunately Civic went down by 6 shots , all players were congratulated on getting this far as we just scraped into the four on the last game before the finals.

Business House Fours
The last week of this event takes place on Wednesday. There have been good numbers each week, and the weather has been excellent. Thankyou to all the businesses who have participated. The club hopes you have enjoyed yourselves and will put a team together for next season.

Social bowls will be played each Saturday and Wednesday now that pennant has finished for the season. Add your name to the entry sheet at the back gate before 9.30am if you wish to play or phone the club and leave your name.
