The crowd at John Foord Oval was pumping on Saturday for the stunning second weekend of OMFNL finals action with strong home support cheering on the Roo girls.
However, minor premiers had a sluggish first quarter which found them chasing the scoreboard for the remainder of the game.
Star defender Sophie Hanrahan was the standout performer for the Roos on the day working hard to get the ball back down to the Roos goal end.
Chloe and Grace Senior were both kept to 17 goals each against a huge defensive effort from Yarrawonga.
In the end, Yarrawonga’s experience and defensive pressure proved too much for Roos attackers, with small errors leading to many unwanted turnovers.
To their credit, and in true Roo form, the girls fought till the end being versatile with all the changes.
The Roos are now preparing for a cut-throat preliminary final against Wangaratta Magpies next Sunday at Bunton Park North Albury.
The Roos would like to thank the home crowd and all volunteers for the incredible support over the weekend.

The first semi-final saw C grade head up to Martin Park to take on Yarrawonga. The girls started the first quarter well but Yarra’s dominance from the start was hard to overcome. The girls work well together as a team but unfortunately were not able to capitalise on vital turnovers to stay in the game with the strong defensive pressure of the Pigeons.
